BEEHIVE: The '60s Musical, conceived by Larry Gallagher, packs a punch of girl power with a program full of popular 1960s hits from some of the decade's favourite female artists. The cast of six, joined by a six-piece band, directed and choreographed by Kailley Roesler and Music Directed by Gordon Roberts, will guide the audience through the decade of a civil rights awakening with a sampling of over 30 songs! It's a musical tribute to the ladies who made ‘60s music special. Showcasing artists such as Lesley Gore, Janis Joplin, the Supremes, Aretha Franklin, Tina Turner and the Shirelles. It will also feature hit songs such as “My Boyfriend's Back,”“Downtown,”“Proud Mary,”“One Fine Day” and “Piece of My Heart.”

From start to finish, the ladies of Beehive—CJ Jackman Zigante, Sarah Mercier, Ivania Delgado, Sabrielle McCurdy-Foreman, Trinity Jade and JenayaBarker— celebrate the critical influence of women not only on the evolution of music but also on equality during a decade so critical to civil rights. The lyrics to the final number put an emphatic button on the message: "Make your own kind of music, even if nobody else sings along." With the talent on stage at First Impressions, there is certainly no danger of that.

FIRST IMPRESSIONS THEATRE honours its commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion on stage and behind the scenes, bringing theatre to the community in more ways than one for 40 almost years.

Beehive runs February 23 to March 11, Wednesdays through Saturdays at 8:00 pm, except Saturday, February 25 at 2:00 pm only (no evening show that day.)
