Step into the Flashback Club — where the hair is big, the band is rockin', and the energy is totally tubular! Featuring a ton of iconic ‘80s hits, SINGERS IN A SMOKY ROOM is a live musical comedy where outrageous characters and a killer house band collide with big dreams, old rivalries and laugh-out-loud romance.
Written and directed by Sheila Sharma, former owner of The Giggle Dam Dinner Theatre and Ovation Award winner for Outstanding Lead Performance for her role in Songs for Nobodies, SINGERS IN A SMOKY ROOM promises to be an instant crowd-pleaser — and impossible not to sing along to.
Hilarious performances by a stellar cast of exceptional vocalists includes our long-time audience favourites Kieran Martin Murphy (Paparazzi, The 39 Steps), Konrad Lasocki (Ovation Award-nominated soloist in Songs for a New World), and of course Sheila Sharma. The production also introduces the outstanding talents of our soon-to-be BFFs Alice Battista, Sandrine Boudrias, Austin Leitch, and Sky Wyatt.
The bodacious house band features a group of solid musicians—Music Director Adam Carabine on keyboards, Kirk Benedict on guitar, Evans Chan on bass, and Norm Catena on drums—all members of Joyride, one of Vancouver's premier cover bands. It promises to be totally rad!
