Curious Cats Theatre Collective presentsTime Stands Still by Donald Margulies

After being seriously injured in an overseas roadside bomb, Sarah, a photojournalist, has returned home to her longtime partner, James, a foreign correspondent, who is navigating his own war-induced emotional trauma. Together they attempt to adjust to a new domesticated life alongside their editor and mentor Richard and his younger girlfriend, Mandy. A gritty and compelling examination of the emotional and moral consequences of war, love, humanity and whether certain desires and images can ever really be erased.

Donald Margulies won the 2000 Pulitzer Prize for Drama for Dinner with Friends and was a finalist twice before for Sight Unseen and Collected Stories. His many other plays, which include Long Lost, The Country House, Shipwrecked! An Entertainment, Brooklyn Boy, the Tony Award-nominated Time Stands Still and the Obie Award-winning The Model Apartment, have been produced on and off-Broadway and in theatres across the United States and around the world.

Accompanying the play will be a photography exhibit, in the Jericho Arts Centre lobby, themed "Time Stands Still." Participating artists include Christopher Dellinger, Andrew Fraser, Leanne Jijian Hume, Dominique Labrosse, and Kyrani Kanavaros.

About Curious Cats Theatre Collective

Producing high-quality theatre in a collaborative environment – Curious Cats Theatre Collective is a Vancouver non-profit society dedicated to producing theatre that is at turns both entertaining and thought-provoking. The Curious Cats aim to provide an environment wherein Vancouver creatives may come together to share expertise and resources in order to bring their artistic visions to fruition. The Cats bring together artists who wish to create with and learn from each other, offering a collaborative environment for artists to mentor each other and work on projects which may not otherwise be produced. The Cats place a special emphasis on providing opportunities to emerging artists and technicians. The Cats' inaugural production, A Man Walks into a Bar by Rachel Blair, played at the Vancouver Fringe Festival in 2024 to much fanfare. In 2025, the Cats produced The Best Restaurant in the World. Ever. by Rick Dobran to sold-out houses. Time Stands Still is their third production. The Cats' artistic directors are Maryth Gilroy, Karen Hamm, and Sandra Medeiros.
